Backgammon is a board game for two players. The playing field consists of a total of 24 elongated triangles, which are called "dots". In Backgammon, the board consists of a total of 24 elongated triangles, called "points". The quadrants are referred to as the player's home board and outer board, as well as the opponent's home board and outer board. The home board and outer board are separated by what is known as the "bar." This is a line located in the middle.

The points are numbered for each player. The numbering starts in the player's home field. The outermost point is point 24. At the same time, this is also the opponent's point 1. Each player has 15 checkers of their own color.

The starting arrangement of the checkers is:

- 2 on point 24 of each player

- 5 on point 13 of each player

- 3 on point 8 of each player

- 5 on point 6 of each player

Both players have their own pair of dice.

The goal of the game is to remove all your own checkers from the playing field.

The checkers are moved clockwise across the board based on the dice results thrown. Each player rolls two dice and draws his checkers accordingly. You can either advance one checker by the sum of the two dice or draw two checkers each by the number of the individual dice thrown.

If a player lands on a point with only one opponent's stone, it is beaten and placed on the bar (the middle bar of the board). The beaten player must first put the checker back into play before he is allowed to move other checkers again.

Checkers can only be moved into the home board (the player's last six points) once all of the player's checkers are in the home board. Afterward, the checkers can be removed (borne off).

In the case of a double (when both dice show the same number), the dice results can be used twice. This means that the player can use the thrown number four times.

A player wins if he is the first to remove all 15 checkers from the playing field.
